Elton John Rumour Not True
Last month, in honour of our 10th birthday we held a special client appreciation event at Jones And Co. We had an exceptional Italian themed wine tasting experience and food from Ben and his team at hangingditch wine merchants. Bruno from Theo flew in especially for the event and showcased the very newest styles from Theo’s design headquarters in Antwerp.
And the real highlight was a mini string concert featuring world class young musicians from the Royal College of Music in London and Cheetham’s School of Music in Manchester. The location for the musical soiree was in the foyer at Jones And Co. and Forsyth’s Music on Deansgate very generously provided a grand piano for the event.
The arrival of said piano is what started the rumours flying…
Early on the Thursday morning the grand piano was carefully delivered and it sat all day in the foyer, elegantly and patiently waiting for the performance. We get quite a lot of footfall through the foyer during the day with people coming and going from the 13 floors of offices above us. Everyone was stopping at the security desk to ask what the piano was all about.
It’s not known who started the rumour but somebody made the connection between the grand piano and the amazing eyewear and came up with the theory that Sir Elton John was booked in for an eyewear styling consultation and an impromptu rendition of his greatest hits. Unfortunately, Elton never showed, but the crowds were not too disappointed.
The young musicians were a real treat to watch and listen to. It was a fantastic performance. Thank you to client Jan Repko for organising the musical soiree for us. And thank you to all you who came along for a wonderful evening!
