Wear Great Glasses. Get Upgraded.
Jones And Co. client Fiona recently returned from a veterinary conference in Singapore. She popped in for our Anne et Valentin trunk show and shared some of her latest adventures with us.
While in China, Fiona completed a first aid course for pandas but broke her leg while she was there. No pandas were harmed. Fortunately, this earned her a business class upgrade on her flight home. Then even better, when she flew to Singapore recently, they noticed her previous upgrade and bumped her up again.
I know what is happening here Fiona.
They just like your eyewear style and are falling all over themselves to upgrade you. It’s a known side effect, people with great eyewear get first-class upgrades and better tables at restaurants. Keep up the exciting vet work! 🐼
When Life Gives You Lemons…
Life gave our lovely optometrist Zaheera some lemons recently. Specifically, her car was broken into and all her optometry equipment was stolen along with her absolute favourite pair of glasses. To top it off, they even took her Jones And Co. / Olympics tote bag. 😡
Zaheera asked Kathryn for another Olympics tote bag so that brightened up her day to start with. She then ordered herself some shiny, expensive new optometry kit which, begrudgingly, she now loves. The relationship between an optometrist and their retinoscope and ophthalmoscope is an intimate one.
Meanwhile, behind the scenes, Kathryn was pulling strings and working her magic to get Zaheera a surprise
replacement for her limited-edition Theo Precious rose gold frame. And through her back-channel contacts in Belgium, Kathryn managed to source the last one of those frames in the world.
Zaheera was amazed and full of appreciation. Turning negatives into positives is something Kathryn is doing all day long for so many people, she is always thinking of others, and we are so lucky to have her. Well done, Kathryn.
Be sure to compliment Zaheera on her new glasses and especially her shiny new retinoscope when you next see her!
Rapp and Jones And Co. in Paris
Every year, Paris plays host to the world’s largest eyewear exhibition—a dazzling spectacle of innovation and style. Amongst the glamour and grandeur, the Rapp stand stands quietly apart. Tucked away at the edge of the exhibition, its understated, DIY aesthetic might seem out of place, but for those in the know, it’s a destination.
For us, a visit to Rapp is always one of the highlights, and this year was no exception. Sadie fell completely in love with this stunning frame, and meeting Julia Rapp herself was unforgettable. Her words left us speechless: she credited Jones and Co. with “single-handedly changing the face of independent eyewear in the UK.” We couldn’t be prouder.
While the newest Rapp pieces can take six months to create, you won’t have to wait that long to experience the magic of these handcrafted masterpieces. Right now, we have one of the finest Rapp collections in the UK (and dare we say, the world), waiting for you to discover.
Each Rapp frame is individually handmade, offering a level of craftsmanship and individuality you simply won’t find on the high street. If you’re looking for eyewear that feels as unique as you are, we invite you to explore the collection today.
